Solitude Mountain Resort is located in the Big Cottonwood Canyon of the Wasatch Mountains in Utah. It is known for plentiful powder, fewer crowds, and its European-styled ski village.

Solitude Mountain Resort Lift Tickets
Solitude Mountain Resort offers several lift ticket options to cater for different preferences.
Day Lift Ticket
Solitude Day lift tickets can be purchased online for lower than window price. Children aged 4 and under can ski for free but will need to pick up a ticket from the ticket office. Solitude also offers the following day tickets at the ticket office only:
- All Day Beginner Ticket: This ticket gives you access to Moombeam chairlift, Link chairlift, and the Magic Carpet.
- All Day Link Only: This ticket only gives you access to the Link chairlift and the Magic Carpet
- Afternoon Ticket: This ticket gives you access after noon on the day purchased.
- *Also includes PSIA, Patrol & Military
Season Pass
Solitude has three types of season passes.
- Midweek Pass: This pass gives access to Solitude lifts on Monday to Thursdays throughout the ski season with blackout dates. It is a one price for all ages.
- Midweek Plus Pass: Midweek Pass benefits and also includes 7 day a week access early and late season (before December 12, 2024 and after April 14, 2025).
- Solitude Young Adult/ Child Pass: This pass is for ages 5 to 22 only. It gives unlimited access to Solitude throughout the ski season with no blackout dates.
Salt Lake Ski Super Pass
The Salt Lake Ski Super Pass gives you access to Salt Lake’s world-class resorts, Alta, Solitude, Brighton, and Snowbird, throughout the ski season with no blackout dates.
- Ski for the number of days purchased within 14 consecutive days from the first day you use your pass.
- The Super Pass is an RFID card that permits quick access through resort turnstiles.
- On your first day, exchange your digital or printed confirmation for a Super Pass card at any resort lift ticket window.
- Head straight to the lifts at Alta and Snowbird after check-in for the remainder of your ski days.
- For Solitude and Brighton, activate your pass daily at the resort's ticket window.
- Valid for one resort per day, with the exception of skiing both Brighton and Solitude on the same day.
- 1- and 2-day passes may be available through select Salt Lake hotel packages or Super Pass partners—check the current partners page for more info.
Important Notes:
- The Super Pass must be activated during the current ski season to be valid.
- Expires 13 days after first activation (14 days total), even if unused ski days remain.

Ikon Passes
You can access Solitude Mountain Resort on all types of Ikon Passes. Ikon passes are available for purchase pre-ski season until around the end of November and are ideal for people planning to ski at multiple resorts. The differences between the passes are highlighted below.
- Ikon Pass gives unlimited access to 17 resorts and up to 7 days each at 41 ski resorts with no blackout dates throughout the ski season. You get unlimited access to Solitude.
- Ikon Base Pass gives unlimited access to 14 resorts and up to 5 days each at 37 resorts with blackout dates for some resorts. This pass gives unlimited access to Solitude excluding blackout dates. It is cheaper than Ikon Pass so it is ideal for those who do not require access to all Ikon resorts.
- Ikon Session Pass has the option of 2, 3, or 4 total days of access at 42 resorts, including Solitude, with blackout dates. This is ideal for those who want some flexibility in resort access and will be skiing the selected days on the pass at Solitude (or other Ikon resorts).
Solitude Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Solitude Ski School offers lessons from group lessons to seasonal programs available for ages 4 and above. The lesson price varies depending on the date, with it being more expensive on weekends and holiday dates
- Adult/Teen Group Lessons are 2 hours either in the morning or afternoon. A day lift ticket can be added on at a discounted rate.
- Children's Group Lessons are for ages 4 to 12 and a full-day lesson. Lunch is provided as part of the lesson.
- Cruisers Seasonal Program is a multi-day program for children that either spans 6 weeks or 12 weeks. This program will help in transitioning the children to a more competitive environment. Lunch is included as part of the program, but you must purchase a lift ticket and rentals separately.
- Private Lessons can range from a 1-hour lesson to a full-day lesson. One-hour private lessons are also available for children 3 years old. Solitude also can arrange for adaptive private lessons.
Nearest Town to Solitude Mountain Resort
Solitude Mountain Resort is located roughly 1.8 miles drive from the small town of Brighton, which is around 34 miles drive from Salt Lake City International Airport. This town is home to Brighton Resort, a laid-back local mountain, but it does not have many amenities, shopping, and dining options. To maximize your time on the slopes of Solitude, it is recommended to stay at one of Solitude’s walk-to-lift lodgings. Alternatively, many skiers also choose to stay in the suburb of Cottonwoods Heights for more amenities and facilities.

Honeycomb Grill
Located at the base of the mountain, Honeycomb Grill serves locally sourced, casual cuisine with stunning mountain views.

The Roundhouse
This is a Himalayan-inspired eatery located midway up the mountain at the base of Powderhorn II chairlift. It offers hearty stews, chili, and a variety of craft beers.

Last Chance Southwest Grill
Located at the base of Apex Express lift, this spot serves southwestern-style fare like burritos, nachos, and tacos.

January and February are a great time to visit Solitude Mountain Resort. However, avoid the crowds by avoiding travel during December, Martin Luther King weekend, and President's Day weekend.

Parking reservations are required Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, December 21, 2024 through March 30, 2025.
