Challenge Level
With green trails across 4 of its 5 mountains, beginners will have no trouble finding suitable trails here at Deer Valley. The resort spoils intermediates with ideal steepness and grooming on every mountain peak and chairlift. While there's more extreme terrain over at Snowbird, advanced and experts will find something to enjoy at Deer Valley!
Things To Do
There's not a lot of activities to offer at the resort. Of the few, there are:
- Snowmobiling
- Snowshoeing
Off-mountain, there is tubing at Gorgoza Park! Park City just next door also has a ton of activities and sights, as does Salt Lake City though it's much further away.
Accessibility
Deer Valley is conveniently located 45 minutes drive from Salt Lake City airport which means you can take a short shuttle ride to the resort. If your flight lands in the morning, you'll probably be on the slopes by lunch time. For groups of 4, renting a car is more economical and makes visiting other Salt Lake City resorts so much easier. An Uber (or Uber Ski if you have gear) is an option too.
Recommended Airport:
- Salt Lake City Intl. Airport 38 miles (45 minute drive)
When To Go
February to early March are the best times to visit Deer Valley as the early season doesn’t see much snow. The same goes for anytime after mid-march when the weather gets warmer and crowds flock in for spring break. However, it's best to avoid President's Day weekend to skip the crowds.
