Location

Sandwiched right between the Olympic facilities and the tip of Mirror Lake, at the foot of the Main Street area, this hotel offers plenty to do within close range. You can do most of the Lake Placid area on foot, especially given the number of restaurants, bars, and shops you can reach with a quick walk around the block. If you want to reach the slopes, however, you will need a car.

• Distance to Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort ski access: 10 miles
• Within walking distance: Olympic facilities, Mirror Lake, and most of the restaurants, bars, shops, and other businesses in the downtown Lake Placid area
• Transportation: A car will be necessary to reach the ski resort, but you will only need your feet to be able to access everything else in town
